Who Can Register?

In short anyone at any age can register with a Dentist.

Babies:

It is recommended that babies are registered as soon after their birth as possible. Typically not much is done in the first year or two but it is important that they become used to the sights and sounds of a dental practice (this will help with any future visits to the Dentist and it will also promote good oral health). Usually, they can just attend during their parent or guardian's appointment and the Dentist will have a quick look to make sure things are as they should be. They should attend regularly as it ensures any dental problems will be caught as early as possible. Babies are exempt from paying NHS charges so this is a completely free service.

Children & Teenagers:

Children and Teenagers can be registered at any age with us and should attend the Dentist every 6 months. It is important they are registered with a Dentist and attend regularly. The Dentist will give the best advice, check for problems and undertake any necessary treatment. The sooner problems are identified the less invasive the treatments will need to be. Ideally, they will have their teeth for life and need to take care of them; that starts with going to the Dentist! Teenagers will also usually need to be registered with a Dentist to be referred for NHS orthodontics. People under the age of 18 or aged 18 and in full time education are entitled to free NHS dentistry.

Adults:

Adults at any age can register with a Dentist; they should do so and attend regularly even if they aren't experiencing any dental problems. This will reduce the chances of any problems and improve the outcome of problems if they are identified and treated early. If patients are house-bound then domiciliary visits can be arranged.

Elderly Patients:

Elderly patients can be registered with us at any age. If they are in full time care their dental treatment is usually arranged by the care facilities and is carried out by general Dentists like ourselves or the public dental service. If patients are house-bound or unable to attend the practice then domiciliary visits to their house can be arranged for certain procedures.
